I love my Mickey-Mouse school.

Thank you! A film is required for every year I attend the Character Animation program at CalArts. I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s going to be a 2:30 minute lo-o-o-o-ove story. It’ll be finished by the end of April. :D
Uh…(shrinks in a corner)…Photoshop.
Don’t be like me guys! Photoshop has a really janky timeline system and I had to render this 3 times for the timing to be okay.
You can easily get the same quality with TVpaint. Heck, it’ll probably look just as good with Flash or ToonBoom. And those programs will never, never mess with your timing! I’m just really stubborn with learning new software, and I like sticking with what I already know. -__-
I was very fortunate to be able to design the CD cover art for Josh Groban’s YoungArts Master Class!
Congrats to the mad talented David Stewart, Elena Pinderhughes, and Miranda Scott Johnson for their participation in YoungArts week!

I sent you some messages months ago and that combined with just your tumblr is helpful and the time for submittal is coming so whether I get in or not I just thought you should know you are an overall sweet talented and helpful person. I wish you luck in life. ywy
Ah, thank you - that’s super sweet of you!
I didn’t get in the first time I applied, and looking back, I’m really happy it worked out the way it did. It’s weird, but I think I grew more as an artist just studying and figuring out things by myself first. School taught me a new way of looking at art/refining my tastes in ways that I never would have explored on my own. CalArts has totally lived up to my forever dream school expectations and I can’t begin to put into words how much I love this place so very very much.
(Best of luck to everyone who’s applying this year! Beautiful animator blessings from me to you~)
